Child safety standards
MeetNow (app.meetnow) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out our standards and how we enforce them.
Adults only
MeetNow is for people 18 and older. Everyone gives their date of birth when they sign up, and accounts under 18 can’t use the app. Friends a member brings to a plan must also be 18 or older. Accounts we find to belong to a minor are closed.
What is not allowed
- Any content that sexualises, endangers or exploits children, including images, messages, plan descriptions and profile text.
- Grooming, or any attempt to contact, meet or obtain content from a minor.
- Sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material.
Reporting in the app
Anyone can report a person, a plan or a message from the plan page, a profile, a chat or the safety sheet. A person on our team reads every report, usually the same day. The plan is hidden while we review it, and the reported person is never told who reported them.
What we do
- We remove the content and suspend the account at once, and block it from signing up again.
- We preserve the evidence and report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the relevant authorities: the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the police in the country concerned, including the Malta Police Force Cyber Crime Unit for activity in Malta.
- We cooperate with law enforcement requests made through the proper legal channels.
Contact
To report a concern or reach our child safety contact, email support@trymeetnow.com with “Child safety” in the subject. If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 or your local emergency number first.
